Think Before You Treat: Essentials of Clinical Reasoning for Physiotherapy Undergraduates

Aditya College of Physiotherapy successfully organised Webinar 11 of the Physio Edu Series–2026 on 29 August 2026 in online mode.

The session was delivered by Dr. Maritta Baby Thomas (PT), Principal & HOD, Nanjappa Institute of Physiotherapy, Shivamogga, Karnataka. The topic of the webinar was “Think Before You Treat: Essentials of Clinical Reasoning for Physiotherapy Undergraduates.” The session focused on the importance of thinking critically before initiating treatment and highlighted the role of clinical reasoning in effective physiotherapy practice.

Dr. Maritta Baby Thomas shared her professional expertise and provided valuable insights into developing clinical reasoning skills among physiotherapy undergraduates. The session emphasised the importance of systematic assessment, interpretation of clinical findings, identification of patient-specific problems, formulation of appropriate treatment goals, and selecting interventions based on sound clinical judgement.

The engaging session encouraged students to move beyond simply “doing the treatment” and focus on thinking, analysing and making patient-centred clinical decisions. 💡🩺
