Aditya College of Physiotherapy, Aditya Group of Institutions, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, celebrated World Physiotherapy Day 2026 on 8 September 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and staff.
The celebrations began with a Free Physiotherapy Screening Camp conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM for the staff of Aditya Group of Institutions. The camp focused on promoting awareness about physical health, regular physical activity, prevention of cardiovascular risk factors, and the importance of physiotherapy in maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
The formal World Physiotherapy Day programme was conducted in the afternoon from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Aditya Indoor Stadium. The theme for World Physiotherapy Day 2026 focused on the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke.
As part of the celebrations, various theme-based competitions, including reel-making, collage-making, and quiz competitions, were organized. Students participated actively and showcased their creativity, teamwork, and knowledge related to CVD, stroke, physical activity, and physiotherapy.
The stage programme included skits and performances by students from each year, with each presentation conveying important messages on cardiovascular health, stroke prevention, physical activity, and rehabilitation. These performances effectively combined education, awareness, creativity, and entertainment.
One of the major highlights of the programme was the release of an awareness book on CVD and stroke, developed around the theme of the year. The book aimed to spread awareness regarding prevention, risk-factor modification, management, rehabilitation, and the importance of physical activity.
The celebration concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, where winners of the various competitions were recognized for their enthusiasm and outstanding participation. Overall, the event successfully promoted awareness of CVD and stroke while highlighting the significant role of physiotherapy in prevention, management, rehabilitation, and lifelong health.
