Aditya college of Physiotherapy successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on 23rd May 2026 on the topic “Muscle Preservation in Modern Spine Surgery: Why It Matters to Physiotherapists”.
The Programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from BPT students and faculty members.
The CME session was conducted by esteemed speakers Dr Deepak BS, MBBS, MS, DNB Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spine surgeon, Aster CMI Hospital, Hebbal Bangalore and Dr. PR Vigashini PT, Associate Professor, Aditya College of Physiotherapy. Dr. Deepak BS delivered an insightful session on the evolving concepts of new advanced robotic surgeries, minimally invasive and muscle-preservation on the latest spine surgery procedures , highlighting their significance in improving patient recovery and rehabilitation outcomes. Dr. PR Vigashini further enriched the programme by presenting the physiotherapy perspective in modern spine rehabilitation and emphasizing the crucial role of physiotherapists in post-surgical recovery.

The programme was graced by the presence of , Chief Administrative officer of Aditya Group of Institutions, Dr Ganesh Babu and Administrative Officer of Aditya Group of Institutions Mrs Malini Shetty, Principal, Dr Vebaku Madhu, faculty members, and students. The event provided an excellent academic platform for knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary learning in the field of spine surgeries and rehabilitation.
